KEEPING UP the pace
Norton Museum of Art expansion, slated to be completed in 2019, remains on schedule
Construction continues at the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, where workers this summer celebrated the ceremonial hoisting of the highest beam on the $100 million expansion project and today remain on pace to finish on schedule.
“Construction is past the halfway point and on schedule for a public reopening in February 2019,” museum communications director Scott Benarde said late Friday. Until then, the museum remains open for free to visitors. The official reopening is scheduled for Feb. 2, 2019.
On Oct. 4, our photographer spent time documenting the construction. Take a look around with him.
The expansion will feature a sculpture garden at this site.
The exterior of the original Nessel wing is undergoing work as part of the expansion project.
