Pres­i­dent’s Award — The Ex­ec­u­tive Women of the Palm Beaches Foun­da­tion will present its in­au­gu­ral Pres­i­dent’s Award to Florida Power & Light at the April 18 Women in Lead­er­ship Awards lun­cheon at the Kravis Center. The award hon­ors a cor­po­ra­tion or in­sti­tu­tion for ex­em­plary sup­port for women ex­ec­u­tives, ac­cord­ing to foun­da­tion Pres­i­dent Denise Valz.

Ac­tress Mar­ilu Hen­ner will give the key­note ad­dress at the event, ex­pected to at­tract about 600 guests. Among the award win­ners will be Marti La Tour, Vic­to­ria A. Chouris, Dr. Mar­sha Fish­bane and Mayor Jeri Muoio of West Palm Beach.

Mar­ket­ing di­rec­tor — Jones, Foster, John­ston & Stubbs law firm has named Lara Hill­man to a new po­si­tion as mar­ket­ing di­rec­tor. She pre­vi­ously worked for law firms in Miami in sim­i­lar jobs, es­tab­lish­ing brand­ing strate­gies and ini­ti­at­ing strate­gic plan­ning. Jones, Foster has of­fices in Palm Beach, West Palm Beach and Jupiter.

Tourism mile­stone

— Jorge Pes­quera, CEO and pres­i­dent of Dis­cover the Palm Beaches, an­nounces that tourists spent a record-break­ing $4.7 bil­lion in Palm Beach County in 2017. County ho­tels re­ported 4.6 mil­lion nightly book­ings in 2017, a 4.9 in­crease from the pre­vi­ous year. Dis­cover the Palm Beaches, based in West Palm Beach, is the county’s of­fi­cial tourism mar­ket­ing agency.

New ex­ec­u­tive — Adri­ana M. Luchechko joins the board of di­rec­tors of Can­cer Al­liance of Help & Hope. She has a mas­ter’s de­gree in busi­ness ad­min­is­tra­tion from Pace Univer­sity and 30 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in the bank­ing and fi­nan­cial ser­vices in­dus­try. The al­liance is a Palm Beach County non­profit that helps qual­i­fied can­cer pa­tients pay non­med­i­cal liv­ing ex­penses.

His­toric walk­ing tour — Rick Gon­za­lez ,a prin­ci­pal of REG Ar­chi­tects, will lead a one-hour walk­ing tour of down­town West Palm Beach land­marks and build­ings at 4 p.m. Fri­day. Par­tic­i­pants are asked to meet on the se­cond floor of the his­toric 1916 Palm Beach County Court­house, 300 N. Dixie High­way.

The cost is $10. For reser­va­tions call 832-4164. Pro­ceeds will ben­e­fit the His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety of Palm Beach County.

Earth Day — The fi­nal GreenMar­ket of the sea­son will take place April 21 at the down­town wa­ter­front in West Palm Beach. In cel­e­bra­tion of na­tional Earth Day, the city will give away free trees. This pro­mo­tion, called “Make Like a Tree and Leave,” starts at 9 a.m. and con­tin­ues through 1 p.m. or as long as sup­plies last.
