Worth Av­enue puts on the dog to ben­e­fit Palm Beach County An­i­mal Care and Con­trol.

Worth Av­enue has gone to the dogs — but in a good way. An­i­mal lovers and those seek­ing a lit­tle retail ther­apy hit the luxe shop­ping street for an af­ter­noon of cud­dles and cha-ching to ben­e­fit Palm Beach County An­i­mal Care and Con­trol.

The Sip and Shop Day, spon­sored by Vic­tor Figueredo and the Darb­ster Foun­da­tion, took place March 15 and in­cluded shop­ping for a cause, re­fresh­ments, and the chance to snug­gle with adopt­able dogs and cats from Palm Beach County An­i­mal Care and Con­trol.

Par­tic­i­pat­ing mer­chants, which do­nated a per­cent­age of sales to the shel­ter, in­cluded Roberta Roller Rab­bit, J. McLaugh­lin, Se­quin and Leg­giadro.

More than 100 peo­ple, in­clud­ing lo­cal an­i­mal rights ac­tivists Ginny Mill­ner and Frances Hay­ward, took part in the event, and sev­eral an­i­mals found for­ever homes.
