RETAIL AND RESCUES
Worth Avenue puts on the dog to benefit Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control.
Worth Avenue has gone to the dogs — but in a good way. Animal lovers and those seeking a little retail therapy hit the luxe shopping street for an afternoon of cuddles and cha-ching to benefit Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control.
The Sip and Shop Day, sponsored by Victor Figueredo and the Darbster Foundation, took place March 15 and included shopping for a cause, refreshments, and the chance to snuggle with adoptable dogs and cats from Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control.
Participating merchants, which donated a percentage of sales to the shelter, included Roberta Roller Rabbit, J. McLaughlin, Sequin and Leggiadro.
More than 100 people, including local animal rights activists Ginny Millner and Frances Hayward, took part in the event, and several animals found forever homes.
