Over­haul planned at Four Sea­sons

Mul­timil­lion-dol­lar prop­er­ty­wide project to shut re­sort for months, bring in a Miche­lin-starred chef.

Some­thing fancy is cook­ing at the Four Sea­sons Palm Beach re­sort. Ac­tu­ally, fancier may be a bet­ter word for the pro­jected re­sults of a mul­timil­lion-dol­lar sum­mer over­haul.

The prop­erty-wide makeover, which will shut the re­sort from the end of May to fall, in­cludes plans to bring se­ri­ous star power to the kitchen. A Miche­lin-starred chef will head the re­sort’s new sig­na­ture restau­rant, ac­cord­ing to a Four Sea­sons pub­li­cist who says the chef’s iden­tity will be an­nounced once that restau­rant con­cept is fi­nal­ized. The chef is an in­ter­na­tion­ally rec­og­nized culi­nary fig­ure who helms award-win­ning restau­rants abroad, ac­cord­ing to sources with knowl­edge of the part­ner­ship.

The first part of this kitchen trans­for­ma­tion be­gins April 15, when Four Sea­sons vet­eran Jose Gamez ar­rives at the Palm Beach re­sort as ex­ec­u­tive chef. Gamez comes to the re­sort from Four Sea­sons at The Surf Club in Surf-
