Pet bless­ings to take place this Sun­day

Two Palm Beach con­gre­ga­tions will host pet bless­ing ser­vices on Sun­day.

To cel­e­brate the Feast of St. Fran­cis As­sisi, The Epis­co­pal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea will bless pets dur­ing its 9 a.m. ser­vice. The church asks that own­ers and pets gather in the garth at 8:45 a.m.

Past pet bless­ings have fea­tured an­i­mals as large as a horse, but smaller pets are also wel­come.

Tem­ple Emanu-El of Palm Beach will cel­e­brate di­ver­sity in cre­ation with its pet bless­ings from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Dan and Ewa Abra­ham Gar­dens. The event will have re­fresh­ments for both pets and peo­ple. A “Blessed Pet” cer­tifi­cate will be given to those who par­tic­i­pate. As many as 30 pets have at­tended a tem­ple bless­ing ser­vice.
