Directional boring to impact traffic, close parking spaces
Planned construction projects and traffic alerts from the Town of Palm Beach for the week starting Monday:
Directional boring: AT&T will start boring on Cocoanut Row between Royal Palm Way and Australian Avenue. Parallel parking spots will be blocked on the west side of Cocoanut Row between Royal Palm Way and Australian Avenue, and the sidewalk will be closed on the west side of Cocoanut Row. Parking spaces on the north side of Brazilian Avenue west of Cocoanut Row also will be blocked. One-way eastbound traffic will be maintained on Australian at Cocoanut Row with parking spaces on the north side of Australian blocked starting at Cocoanut Row.
Tree trimming: Coconut palm trimming will affect the following streets this week: Australian Avenue, Clarke Avenue (100-300 block), Crescent Drive, South Lake Drive and Park Avenue.

Undergrounding: Comcast will be installing lines around Caribbean, Arabian and Indian roads, as well as East Inlet Drive; Florida Power & Light Co. will work along East Inlet and Debra Lane; drilling will occur on North Lake Way, while work will continue on Reef Road and Seagate Road, both by North Lake Way. One lane of traffic to be maintained on all roads being worked on.
Royal Palm Way irrigation improvements: Work continues through the end of the month in the medians on Royal Palm Way from the Royal Park Bridge east to South Ocean Boulevard. No lane closures are anticipated.
Recreation Center construction: Be aware of large trucks leaving the site on westbound Royal Palm Way. For more information, contact Pat Marshall, project manager, Hedrick Brothers Construction, 568-4182, or Eric Brown, Public Works Department, at 838-5440.
Streetlight installation: Florida Power and Light Co. contractors will be doing installation on South Ocean Boulevard from Sloan’s Curve south to Lake Avenue. The contractor will be periodically closing the southbound lane of South Ocean Boulevard. Work also will begin on Onondaga Avenue north to East Inlet Drive. Work is expected to be completed by early October. The contractor will be periodically closing portions of North Ocean Boulevard, North Lake Way, East Inlet Drive and Onondaga Avenue.
Signal work: At the intersections of Cocoanut Row and Clarke Avenue and at Bradley Place and Sunrise Avenue, the improvement project continues. The contractor will be closing the west end of Clarke Avenue and Sunrise Avenue to through traffic for foundation installation and installation of signal conduit. It also will close a lane on Bradley Place at Sunrise Avenue. Sidewalks will be closed during construction.
Sanitary sewer maintenance: Work will be performed on South Ocean Boulevard between Southern Boulevard and Barton Avenue. There will be intermittent lane closures.
Milling and resurfacing: There will be lane closures on Sunrise Avenue as the city of West Palm Beach completes a water-main project.
