Di­rec­tional bor­ing to im­pact traf­fic, close park­ing spa­ces

Planned con­struc­tion projects and traf­fic alerts from the Town of Palm Beach for the week start­ing Mon­day:

Di­rec­tional bor­ing: AT&T will start bor­ing on Co­coanut Row be­tween Royal Palm Way and Aus­tralian Av­enue. Par­al­lel park­ing spots will be blocked on the west side of Co­coanut Row be­tween Royal Palm Way and Aus­tralian Av­enue, and the side­walk will be closed on the west side of Co­coanut Row. Park­ing spa­ces on the north side of Brazil­ian Av­enue west of Co­coanut Row also will be blocked. One-way east­bound traf­fic will be main­tained on Aus­tralian at Co­coanut Row with park­ing spa­ces on the north side of Aus­tralian blocked start­ing at Co­coanut Row.

Tree trim­ming: Co­conut palm trim­ming will af­fect the fol­low­ing streets this week: Aus­tralian Av­enue, Clarke Av­enue (100-300 block), Cres­cent Drive, South Lake Drive and Park Av­enue.

Un­der­ground­ing: Com­cast will be in­stalling lines around Caribbean, Ara­bian and In­dian roads, as well as East In­let Drive; Flor­ida Power & Light Co. will work along East In­let and De­bra Lane; drilling will oc­cur on North Lake Way, while work will con­tinue on Reef Road and Sea­gate Road, both by North Lake Way. One lane of traf­fic to be main­tained on all roads be­ing worked on.

Royal Palm Way ir­ri­ga­tion im­prove­ments: Work con­tin­ues through the end of the month in the me­di­ans on Royal Palm Way from the Royal Park Bridge east to South Ocean Boule­vard. No lane clo­sures are an­tic­i­pated.

Recre­ation Cen­ter con­struc­tion: Be aware of large trucks leav­ing the site on west­bound Royal Palm Way. For more in­for­ma­tion, con­tact Pat Mar­shall, project man­ager, Hedrick Brothers Con­struc­tion, 568-4182, or Eric Brown, Pub­lic Works Depart­ment, at 838-5440.

Street­light in­stal­la­tion: Flor­ida Power and Light Co. con­trac­tors will be do­ing in­stal­la­tion on South Ocean Boule­vard from Sloan’s Curve south to Lake Av­enue. The con­trac­tor will be pe­ri­od­i­cally clos­ing the south­bound lane of South Ocean Boule­vard. Work also will be­gin on Onondaga Av­enue north to East In­let Drive. Work is ex­pected to be com­pleted by early Oc­to­ber. The con­trac­tor will be pe­ri­od­i­cally clos­ing por­tions of North Ocean Boule­vard, North Lake Way, East In­let Drive and Onondaga Av­enue.

Sig­nal work: At the in­ter­sec­tions of Co­coanut Row and Clarke Av­enue and at Bradley Place and Sun­rise Av­enue, the im­prove­ment project con­tin­ues. The con­trac­tor will be clos­ing the west end of Clarke Av­enue and Sun­rise Av­enue to through traf­fic for foun­da­tion in­stal­la­tion and in­stal­la­tion of sig­nal con­duit. It also will close a lane on Bradley Place at Sun­rise Av­enue. Side­walks will be closed dur­ing con­struc­tion.

San­i­tary sewer main­te­nance: Work will be per­formed on South Ocean Boule­vard be­tween South­ern Boule­vard and Bar­ton Av­enue. There will be in­ter­mit­tent lane clo­sures.

Milling and resur­fac­ing: There will be lane clo­sures on Sun­rise Av­enue as the city of West Palm Beach com­pletes a wa­ter-main project.
