Solstice is it

Pasatiempo - - Mixed Media -

Labyrinths and luminarias, drumming and dreidels, s’mores and s’lesses will be on hand Sunday, Dec. 20, during the Santa Fe Children’s Museum’s annual Winter Solstice Festival. For two bucks, you get into this seasonal favorite, which includes live music, fireside stories, refreshments (hot cider and popcorn!), and other stuff. Remember, days are shortest at this time of the year, and temperatures can plummet, so wear warm clothes, because the event takes place outside. The ceremony goes from 5 to 7 p.m.; its stunning labyrinth of luminarias is the creation of architect Courtney Mathey and a dedicated group of staffers and volunteers who don’t mind possibly burning their fingers in the name of giving visitors a good time. The museum is at 1050 Old Pecos Trail; call 989-8359 for information.
