For 19 years, the Hospice Center of Santa Fe— a program of Presbyterian Medical Services and the only nonprofit hospice program in Santa Fe County — has brought love and light and care to many people. In so many ways, actions speak louder than words, and that is something the caregivers and staff at the Hospice Center understand so well. In a very public way, the folks at the center bring their cause to the Plaza with the annual Light Up a Life campaign. Part of the observance includes the lighting of hundreds of farolitos placed around the Plaza in remembrance of lost family members and friends, each offered as a donation to the center for $20. This special event takes place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31. To purchase a farolito or for additional information call 988-2211 or visit pmsfsouthwest.org.
