Who would think to blend Christmas carols with flamenco music and present it in theatrical form right after Christmas? Teatro Paraguas, that’s who. The bilingual performance company, which has presented a variety of productions emphasizing storytelling from here and abroad— including cuentos about ghosts and a fable about a genetically produced giant frog that eats people who wander into a prized marijuana field— now offers two performances of La Luz Invernal. The event features spoken word, dance, and poetry and showcases the talents of David “El Niño” Briggs, Susannah Garrett, and flamenco troupe Villancicos. It takes place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, at Teatro Paraguas Studio, 3221-B Richards Lane. Tickets are $15; call 424-1601 or visit teatroparaguas.org.
