Painting without a net
If weekend matinees aren’t your style, consider supporting the arts by attending Under Construction: Live Paint! The Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (108 Cathedral Place) hosts a full day of created-on-the-spot artwork by alumni, students, faculty, and staff. The day following the artistic assault, there’s a live auction of the finished paintings that will benefit the artists and the museum. The creative process gets underway at noon and continues till 7 p.m. at the museum on Saturday, Feb. 6 (there will also be music and free food). The works produced Saturday go up for grabs on the auction block from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7. Both days’ events are free and open to the public. For more information, call 428-5900.
