As documentary filmmaker Kimberly Reed explores the pains and secrets that haunt her past in Montana, she realizes that there is still much to resolve. Born male and now gender-transitioned to a woman, Reed — who narrates — also copes with the outbursts of her adopted adult brother, Marc, who has severe behavioral problems. When Marc discovers he comes from Hollywood royalty, Reed sees a chance for her brother to break free from his troubled past and start a new life. This jolting portrait of human identity and sibling rivalry brims with depth, honesty, and the unpredictability of emotional and physical violence. Not rated. 86 minutes.
