IT CAMe froM KUChAr
Mix Douglas Sirk with Ed Wood Jr., and you still don’t come close to defining what George and Mike Kuchar accomplished with 8mm and 16mm films dating back to the 1950s. Jennifer M. Kroot’s documentary pays homage to the brothers,
whose oeuvre includes Corruption of the Damned, I Was a Teenage Rumpot, Pussy on a Hot Tin Roof, Born of the
Wind (described in Kroot’s film thus: “Tears. Blood. Murder. And Aliens”) and, perhaps their most famous,
Sins of the Fleshapoids. Film historian and author Gene Youngblood introduces the documentary. 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 25, only. Not rated, but contains mature themes. 86 minutes. CCA Cinematheque, Santa Fe. (Robert Nott) See story, Page 44.
