gods of the 30-year-old new wave of British heavy metal, hit the friendly skies recently to kick off a world tour in support of their 15th studio album, The Final Frontier (set for release this summer). It isn’t clear whether lead singer/commercial airline pilot Bruce Dickinson will fly his bandmates around in “Ed Force One,” Maiden’s custom-designed Boeing 757-200, but prog-metal mainstays Dream Theater are confirmed as tour openers for Maiden’s U.S. and Canada dates. Catch them both at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 16, at The Pavilion, 5601 University Blvd. S.E., Albuquerque. Tickets are $26 to $101, four-ticket lawn packages are $84; see www.livenation.com.
