Singer and multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire Andy Irvine plays Gig
Performance Space at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 12. He was a founding member of the Irish bands Sweeney’s Men in 1966, Planxty in 1970, and Patrick Street in 1986, and he has also played Eastern European music, including with the band Mosaic. A vocalist inspired by Woody Guthrie, Irvine also waxes melodic on the bouzouki, harmonica, mandolin, and hurdy-gurdy. Admission to the set at Gig, 1808 Second St., is $20.
