is right around the corner, which means it’s time to skewer Santa Fe so­ci­ety, cul­ture, and pol­i­tics with the 2010 Fi­esta Melo­drama. This year’s play, di­rected by Matt San­ford and Eliot Gray Fisher is, as al­ways, penned anony­mously. In keep­ing with tra­di­tion, al­ter­nate silly ti­tles for this show (one is A Gar­gan­tuan Gloom Ma­chine, Groovy Ganja Greens, Greedy Grasp­ing Fiends and Grap­pling Fi­esta Queens Gen­er­ate Gaily Gar­ru­lous Scenes) are manda­tory. Catch per­for­mances of the melo­drama at the Santa Fe Play­house (142 E. DeVargas St.) at 8 p.m. Fri­day, Aug. 27; 2 and 8 p.m. Satur­day, Aug. 28; 2 p.m. Sun­day, Aug. 29; and 8 p.m. Thurs­day, Sept. 2. The play runs Thurs­days to Sun­days through Sept. 12.
