On Sun­day, Sept. 5, head about 12 miles north of the Old Blink­ing Light on N.M. 150 to Taos Ski Val­ley for the Sec­ond An­nual Taos Moun­tain Mu­sic Fes­ti­val. Held at the base of the ski runs, this fresh-faced fes­ti­val was a smash­ing suc­cess in 2009. This year’s event, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (gates open at 10 a.m.), in­cludes per­for­mances by Mari­achi Calor, Mia Bor­ders, Ra­dio La Chusma, She­mekia Copeland, Yon­der Moun­tain String Band, and fes­ti­val head­liner, rock­ers Gov’t Mule. You can also en­joy the kids’ play zone, nearby restau­rants, and a “Straw­berry Fair” mar­ket­place with arts, crafts, and con­ces­sions.
