A heroic true story runs out of steam under the light of the bigscreen projector, despite a fine cast headed by Hilary Swank and Sam Rockwell and anchored by some terrific undercard performances from Melissa Leo and Juliette Lewis. With the outcome of the court decision at the center of this story already in the books, there’s no suspense; the movie has to work hard at all its moments, because we know where it’s going. But, come to think of it, much the same can be said of life. Rated R. 107 minutes. Regal DeVargas, Santa Fe.
