This documentary tells the story of the Nukus museum of Russian avant-garde art in Karakalpakstan (an independent republic of Uzbekistan) and Igor Savitsky, the artist and archaeologist who single-handedly saved the art from the scrapheap of Stalin’s Soviet Union.
