There is an undeniable link between the classics and high school. That’s where most of us first read them, and young screenwriters bent on revenge rewrite them as high school comedies. Sometimes it works, but this one, distantly inspired by The Scarlet Letter, pulls up lame. Olive (Emma Stone) allows the lie that she has lost her virginity to circulate and turns false advertising into a cottage industry. Rated PG-13. 93 minutes.
