The Short Order
The historic El Nido restaurant in Tesuque has reopened and is operated by Tom Vimont of Steaksmith at El Gancho. It now serves more family-oriented fare like ribs, burgers, and eggplant Parmesan as well as steaks and seafood. Grilled items like prime rib and fish are well prepared,
but service can be a serious problem. Drinks are well made and reasonably priced. Wine can be a good deal. It is a restaurant in search of a chef — and maybe a manager, too.
Recommended: prime rib and lobster tails.
