Friday, Jan. 7: A strong urge to wander is curtailed by responsibilities early as Venus enters cheerful Sagittarius and the sun squares dour Saturn. Follow intuition, but sift out wishful thinking this afternoon as the moon conjuncts Neptune and then heads into Pisces. It’s a sweet night, but expectations can cause conflict. Saturday, Jan. 8: Feelings run deep today. We may want to wander, hike, or window shop; our souls work through more if our feet are moving. Breathe through a prickly patch midafternoon as the moon challenges Mars. Intimate feelings may be out of synch. Sunday, Jan. 9: It’s a sensitive, intuitive morning as the Pisces moon makes some sweet aspects. We may need time inside listening to our muse. A friendly afternoon grows more distant later as we’re distracted by concerns and become self-absorbed. Hold hands and walk together. Monday, Jan. 10: If we make an agreement today, get it in writing on this intuitive day. Minds change tonight, and the next few days are belligerent. We can get difficult around dinnertime if our feelings are tweaked. Think expansively not erratically. Tuesday, Jan. 11: Our first reactions may not be the wisest as the Aries moon squares Mercury. It’s hard to take help or need people, and we can shoot ourselves in the foot to avoid doing so as Mars sextiles Uranus. Act and create — don’t react. Tonight, don’t talk about tender things. Thursday, Jan. 13: Take business to a new level as Mercury enters Capricorn. If training and information are needed to achieve goals, get them. Do not be pushed around or push others. Plant feet firmly on the ground, and move forward one step at a time. Get ready to kick into high gear this week and follow through on those New Year’s resolutions. The mood is actively competent with the sun, Mars, and Pluto in determined Capricorn, and as thoughtful Mercury squares restless Uranus, we’re just itching for change. It pays to go to meetings with fresh ideas; if they don’t work, at least they’ll clarify decisions and open possibilities.

Because we feel the push to explore and accomplish things, the next few weeks can be depressing if we don’t have plans and successful if we do and are willing to be flexible in their execution. If we’re not sure what to do with this pushy energy, it helps to tackle a small problem and feel the sense of accomplishment in which Capricorn revels. Camaraderie helps us with this hard work as Venus enters cheerful Sagittarius. This aspect brings a desire to meet new people, especially ones with foreign accents or unusual interests.

The weekend is touchy and sensitive under a Pisces moon. Early next week, don’t let sharp-edged impatience strain relationships; open communication is essential as the moon enters Aries and Venus semisquares Saturn. New projects require us to follow through. Our control issues may be up and running, but try not to control one another as the sun squares Saturn.

Midweek, we get dealt a wild card but don’t need to overreact as Mercury squares and Mars sextiles electrical Uranus. This is an energized, alive, and competent time. Conflicting opinions can hinder our progress unless we expand our sense of the possible and let everyone have their say. Wednesday, Jan. 12: The morning has sharp edges. People jostle for control or for the right to take the lead. The evening is pragmatic and comfort-seeking as the moon enters Taurus.
