Last week’s

Mercury-Pluto conjunction wanted us to thoughtfully reconsider our purpose, look deeper at some conundrum in our life, or reassess how we communicated. This week we need to take that new understanding and act on it as the sun conjuncts swashbuckling Mars. Mars wants action and doesn’t care about thoughtfulness. The sun and Mars conjunct as Jupiter enters Mars-ruled Aries, injecting a freedom-loving, authentic, and spontaneous energy.

Of course, if you have five people in a room who say they want action, chances are they all want something different. To use this sun-Mars conjunction well, we have to pull together and take an idea and make it happen. Although this aspect can get the party started on sweeping international changes, our revolution can be small and personal.

As the weekend begins, tend to chores that make creativity possible. Early next week, we can revel in our connections; growth requires allies along the way. Exciting interactions may distract us, but let’s stay on track with important long-term projects.

Midweek, as the moon enters Scorpio, we may get tired of being nice and need to know we are loved even if we’re difficult. A snarky, manipulative energy kicks in if we’ve ignored any needs or primordial feelings. Some people will annoy us just because they can. Some work projects may be put on hold as Saturn retrogrades and squares Mercury, but the delays help us refine the work.

Friday, Jan. 21:

Progress is derailed if egos act up as the Leo moon opposes Neptune, but we can get past this if we focus on common goals. Get friendly this morning and efficient this afternoon as the moon enters Virgo. Tonight, avoid judgmental streaks and heal one another.

Saturday, Jan. 22:

Healthy freedom: that’s what we search for as Jupiter enters Aries under a Virgo moon. Well-handled details provide a beautiful framework for creative growth. Tonight, manage doubts as Mercury semisquares Neptune. Imagine what it would look like if everything did turn out for the best.

Sunday, Jan. 23:

It’s a day of good transitions. We can talk about duty that frees us and lets us love as Venus sextiles Saturn. Take a restrained but caring approach. Plans need improvisation midday as the moon opposes Uranus. Tonight, share the warmth as the moon enters Libra and trines the sun.

Monday, Jan. 24:

Don’t look at the sum total of work — it can feel overwhelming. Begin with people-oriented chores. Loss or sadness midday needs to be reframed; honor what has left and look at what is just arriving. Tonight, rest is the highest priority as the moon conjuncts Saturn.

Tuesday, Jan. 25:

This morning, there are optimistic if unrealistic moments. Catch up with neglected friendships, return favors, and do just enough practical things to keep the flow going. The mood switches tonight; primal needs and contrary attitudes need expression, but we don’t have to be mean as the moon enters Scorpio.

There is a grumpy focus today; let people do what they need and don’t take rudeness personally. If discouraged, return to what worked in the past. Glitches in our communication help us figure out new forms as Mercury squares Saturn.

Thursday, Jan. 27:

Wednesday, Jan. 26:

It’s an unsettled day. People may not be able to connect. This afternoon, follow up on a suspicion, but be willing to let go if the evidence suggest it’s false. Laughter returns tonight; joke about recent serious situations for a better perspective.
