YOGI BEAR Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake give voice to Yogi and Boo-Boo, respectively, in this live action and CGI adaptation of the cartoon. Rated PG. 83 minutes. Screens in 2-D only at Regal Stadium 14, Santa Fe; DreamCatcher, Española. Screens in 3-D only at Storyteller, Taos. (Not reviewed) stiff-kneed biography of Hildegard von Bingen, the remarkable 12th-century nun and visionary, has a solemn earnestness but doesn’t breathe enough life into its subject. Barbara Sukowa hits a lot of notes as Hildegard, but in the context of this movie, they don’t reverberate very much. Not rated. 111 minutes. In German with subtitles. The Screen, Santa Fe. ( Jonathan Richards) WHITE MATERIAL Director and co-writer Claire Denis offers little information about the setting and political situation portrayed in her current film. All we know is that violence has broken out between the political powers and youthful rebels of an African nation, and a French colonist (Isabelle Huppert, in a bravado performance) stubbornly fights to keep her coffee plantation running. It’s a darkly lyrical story of the human condition, the divisions we construct among one another, and fundamental questions of “home.” Not rated. 100 minutes. In French with subtitles. The Screen, Santa Fe. (Robert B. Ker) THE WILDEST DREAM: CONQUEST OF EVEREST British director Anthony Geffen’s suspenseful and beautifully photographed documentary explores the fate and psyche of climber George Mallory, who disappeared on Mount Everest in 1924. More than seven decades after Mallory’s death, American mountaineer Conrad Anker discovered his remains 800 feet from Everest’s summit. In 2007 Anker, along with British climber Leo Houlding, retraced Mallory’s fateful journey, sometimes using equipment from the period, in an attempt to prove that Mallory could have reached the summit before perishing. Rated PG. 93 minutes. The Screen, Santa Fe. (Rob DeWalt)
