The galleries’ food offerings include sweet, bite-sized morsels — “They’re odes to the Sherman brothers’ tune ‘A Spoonful of Sugar,’ which was written for the Mary Poppins musical,” Fritz said. Rooftop Pizzeria and Marble Brewery help create the Chicago vibe. Completing the scene at GF Contemporary is, to quote Fritz, the “mangy jazz of Albuquerque ensemble Le Chat Lunatique.”
Kiva Fine Art is holding a “Honky-Tonk Luau,” with Hawaiian and cowboy food prepared by Cowgirl BBQ and music by Bill Hearne’s Roadhouse Revue.
Those with a button from the Edible Art Tour who are 21 and older have free entry into the Feast or Famine event at The Ore House at Milagro later that evening (others can buy tickets for $15). It includes hip-hop and house music by DJs King George, Joe Ray Sandoval, and Maynard Del Mar, as well free hors d’oeuvres created by Coyote Café and The Ore House at Milagro.
On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 26 and 27, take the self-guided Art of Home Tour, featuring houses staged with art from Vivo Contemporary, Golden Dawn Gallery, Transcendence Design, Victoria Price Art and Design, Lakind Gallery, Karan Ruhlen Gallery, Heidi Loewen Porcelain Studio, and the William & Joseph Gallery. Ten percent of proceeds from sales of art exhibited during the tours goes to ARTsmart. Metal sculptures by Santa Fe high school students are also on display.
A Feb. 26 fundraising banquet dinner and auction at the ballroom at Encantado, brings together some of Santa Fe’s finest culinary talent, and wines are paired with each course. Local sculptor Rebecca Tobey is honored at the dinner for her ARTsmartsponsored work with Santa Fe and Capital high school students. After learning the sgraffito ceramics technique from her, students created 8-inch-square tiles that will be available during the evening’s silent auction.
Closing out the 14th Annual ARTfeast is a Feb. 27 champagne brunch and auction at Bishop’s Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa. Share a meal overseen by new Bishop’s Lodge/Las Fuentes Restaurant executive chef Christopher McLean and conversation with select artists from participating galleries. Live and silent auctions include artwork, travel and spa packages, cooking classes, an “I Made It!” plate set, and metal sculptures designed by students from Santa Fe High School.
