A week ago, we got a wake-up call as Uranus entered Aries, and the sun ejected a wild coronal plume. Our planet is ringing like a bell; our world is changing. We may be triggered by our own version of an earthquake, large or small, or feel swept away by the big global events that remind us that we have one world, and everything that happens affects us all.

Uranus now begins to square Pluto on and off now through 2016. Uranus creates change, and Pluto represents transformational, electrical, and political power and personal empowerment. Both planets are willing to play hardball to get the process started. Let’s look at the stories unfolding for clues as to how to do the work at hand.

The weekend begins under a tough-minded Mercury-Saturn opposition that makes our minds tenacious. We tend to hold on to the tough stuff and wrestle with our worst fears. World events give us plenty to think about. A full Virgo moon this weekend can raise the anxiety level; we may have a tendency to hide from that anxiety by focusing on blame and fault. To use this Virgo energy best, we need to focus on healing, hope, and improvement in ourselves, our beloveds, and in the world around us.

On Sunday, a tough aspect between Venus and Pluto can make our heart ache and remind us of what we may have lost or could lose. We can choose to rise to its calling and let our troubles bring us together. If our heart hurts from personal loss or in response to world events, it will help to find someone who needs what we have.

Spring begins with a blast of energy on Sunday night as the sun enters Aries and conjuncts Uranus. The mood is intense and revolutionary for the first few days of spring. Let us begin this season with love and connection. Friday, March 18: A serious, thoughtful morning helps us nail down decisions and follow through on tough chores. Use this tenacity wisely. Later, the afternoon grumbles. Fix what needs to be fixed, and don’t try to fix one another. Tonight, do what heals and soothes the nerves. Saturday, March 19: The morning is cranky; be careful not to waste creative energy looking for faults. Later, prioritize camaraderie as the Libra moon opposes Uranus. We get new lessons in how to work with one another, so let’s be good students. Sunday, March 20: Hold hands this melancholic morning as Venus semisquares Pluto. We feel the pressures of life and need a break. The energy picks up as the sun enters Aries this afternoon. Raise the roof for the vernal equinox and send the energy to good things. Monday, March 21: Listen for an exciting wake-up call as the sun conjuncts Uranus in Aries. We’re fed up with what doesn’t work, keenly interested in innovation, and ready to question preconceptions. We work better alone as the moon enters Scorpio. Tuesday, March 22: We need to vent but not at one another. Do not ask for favors. Deal with real issues and leave the details until later. Work on foundations, basements, and wiring. Wednesday, March 23: Give people room this morning. The mood brightens later as the moon enters Sagittarius. We need a break, and we want to talk to the wild animals this afternoon. Thursday, March 24: Let a fresh, determined honesty blow off the dust. Take a day to renew yourself and find playfulness in strange corners. Notice where enthusiasm is building and feed those new fires.
