The Short Order A roadside fixture north of Tesuque for more than 20 years, Gabriel’s doesn’t have a lot to recommend it these days. The promise is authentic Southwestern cuisine, made using the best ingredients. But the food on your plate says that the restaurant is more about affordability and portion size than freshness and preparation. The setting is nice, especially the roomy patio, which is a great place to try a drink and an appetizer on a sunny day. But if you’re serious about Northern New Mexico cooking, you’re in for a letdown. Recommended: Guacamole Especial, Enchiladas Verduras, La Rosarita cocktail, La Granada cocktail.
