The Com­pound is one of Santa Fe’s most fa­mous high-end restau­rants, and chef Mark Kif­fin has racked up sig­nif­i­cant awards over the past decade and a half, in­clud­ing recog­ni­tion from the James Beard Foun­da­tion as “Best Chef in the South­west” in 2005. From year to year, The Com­pound’s menu doesn’t change much, but that doesn’t mean it’s stale. The com­bi­na­tion of set­ting, ser­vice,

and in­gre­di­ents still makes this a smart choice when you’re in the mood to splurge. Rec­om­mended: Gi­rard Lemon­ade cock­tail,

crispy buttermilk onion rings, roasted heir­loom beet salad, stacked salad, seared rare tuna niçoise, and chicken schnitzel.
