Santa Fe Symphony’s Beethoven fest; The Hat at Santa Fe Playhouse; Cuarteto Latinoamericano; and I Do, I Do, Too-Doo at Teatro Paraguas Studio
Michael Butterman is already music director of the Boulder Philharmonic, the Shreveport Symphony, and the newly formed Pennsylvania Philharmonic, an itinerant orchestra that performs throughout that state, mostly in schools. Apparently he is up for adding another arrow to his quiver. During this season, in which the Santa Fe Symphony considers contenders for its next principal conductor, he will ascend the podium at the Lensic Performing Arts Center (211 W. San Francisco St.) to conduct the ensemble in an all-Beethoven program comprising the Symphonies No. 2 and No. 6 plus the Piano Concerto No. 2 (with Sean Chen as soloist). The concert takes place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. Tickets, $22 to $76 (with discounts available), can be purchased by calling 505-988-1234 or visiting www.ticketssantafe.org. — J.M.K.
