Bach birthday bash: Serenata of Santa Fe
Serenata of Santa Fe celebrates Johann Sebastian Bach with a concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, a day after his 330th birthday. Flutist Jesse Tatum, violist Marlow Fisher, harpsichordist Kathleen McIntosh, and organist Linda Raney pool their talents in this program, which includes two movements of keyboard pieces by Bach — his G-major Prelude (BWV 902a) and his C-minor Fantasia (BWV 906) — but mostly focuses on works of other composers, including Bach-inspired pieces by Alec Templeton and P.D.Q. Bach (a nom de plume of Peter Schickele). The concert takes place at the First Presbyterian Church (208 Grant Ave.), and tickets ($15 to $30, with discounts available at the door) can be purchased from Tickets Santa Fe at the Lensic (505-988-1234, www.ticketssantafe.org). — J.M.K.
