The Great Hall of the Peter­son Stu­dent Cen­ter at St. John’s Col­lege (1160 Camino de Cruz Blanca) is go­ing to be a hive of ac­tiv­ity on Fri­day, April 3. At 12:10 p.m., tu­tor emer­i­tus and mu­si­cian-in-res­i­dence Peter Pesic con­tin­ues his lunchtime recital se­ries by play­ing sev­eral mon­u­ments of the pi­ano reper­toire: De­bussy’s Images, Book II , and Chopin’s Scherzo in C-sharp mi­nor and Im­promptu in G-flat ma­jor. Then at 7:30 that evening, tenor James On­stad and pi­anist Nathan Salazar of­fer a con­cert of songs by Schu­bert, Rach­mani­noff, Brit­ten, John Musto, and other com­posers, mostly re­lat­ing to the theme of spring­time. On­stad, a lyric tenor who is a Santa Fe na­tive and a Har­vard grad­u­ate, in­cludes among his re­cent en­gage­ments nu­mer­ous ap­pear­ances as a soloist with the es­teemed Cincin­nati Bach En­sem­ble and on­go­ing per­for­mances in the cho­rus of the noted en­sem­ble Bos­ton Baroque.
