Triple treat: Chuscales and co.

Pasatiempo - - RANDOM ACTS -

You don’t have to wait for summer to enjoy flamenco in Santa Fe. Jose Valle “Chuscales,” one of the city’s pre-eminent Spanish guitarists, singer Kina Mendez, and dancer Mina Fajardo come together in an intimate evening of flamenco at Teatro Paraguas Studio (3205 Calle Marie) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18. All three have worked with Juan Siddi’s company, but come with their own extensive performing résumés. Chuscales and Mendez have Spanish roots, and Fajardo, who is married to the guitarist, is originally from Japan. The two have spent their years together raising four children while continuing professional flamenco careers. Tickets, $25, are available from www.brownpapertick; they’re $27 at the door.
