The Short Order

Pasatiempo - - RESTAURANT REVIEW -

A local favorite since it opened in 1983, La Choza is the sister restaurant of an older, famous downtown fixture, The Shed. Either place is a good bet if you have a particular taste for hearty New Mexico dishes that feature red chile. (Though they do good things with green too.) La Choza doesn’t get as much recognition for its margaritas as some other Santa Fe restaurants, but the ones we sampled were consistently good. Recommended: silver coin margarita; Don de Oro margarita; stuffed sopaipilla; combination plate with chile relleno, pork tamale, beef enchilada, and mocha cake.
