ON THE COVER
In swarm’s way
Photographer Thomas Jackson captures masses of gaudily bright manufactured objects — file tabs, cheese puffs, Vogue ad pages, pink plastic drink cups — strangely floating in pristine natural settings. Angela Bacon-Kidwell’s monochrome photos of rainy roads, clouds of birds, and a boy doing inexplicable things are less easy to typify but just as enigmatic. Photo-eye Gallery features the work of the artists in exhibitions opening on Friday, May 29. On the cover is Jackson’s 2013 archival pigment print Cups No. 2.
