The Auteurs se­ries con­tin­ues with The Gen­eral, co­me­dian and film­maker Buster Keaton’s most iconic, and ar­guably great­est, achieve­ment. His 1926 film, set dur­ing the Civil War era, fea­tures nu­mer­ous sight gags and ex­tra­or­di­nary stunts atop a mov­ing train. The re­sults tran­scend lan­guage and cul­tural dif­fer­ences and con­tinue to de­light au­di­ence mem­bers from three to one hun­dred and three.
