The Short Order

Pasatiempo - - RESTAURANT REVIEW -

A legendary spot on Canyon Road that dates back to the early 1960s, El Farol has a distinctive front patio, a famous bar, and a rambling, close-quarters interior that opens onto a roomy patio out back. It’s a ramshackle sort of place, but don’t be fooled: You can spend a lot here on lunch and dinner. Unfortunately, the quality of what you get doesn’t always match the prices. Recommended: aguacate and churros con chocolate.

Ratings range from 1 to 5 chiles, including half chiles. This reflects the reviewer’s experience with regard to food and drink, atmosphere, service, and value. 5 = flawless 4-1/2 = extraordinary 4 = excellent 3-1/2 = very good 3 = good 2-1/2 = average 2 = fair

1-1/2 = questionable 1 = poor
