Laying it bare: Naked Romance
Davida Singer, a New York City-based poet and performance artist, joins composer and pianist John Rangel of Santa Fe for the New Mexico premiere of Naked Romance: A Fusion of Live Poetry and Music on Friday, July 10, at 7:30 p.m., at Gig Performance Space (1808 Second St.). Singer’s latest book of poems, naked romance and then
some (Aldrich Press, 2015), explores the desire for romance in the modern world in a series of isolated moments. The poems are set to original music by Rangel, and in this performance the pair is joined by bass player Andy Zadrozny and other guests. The performance is followed by a book signing with Singer. Tickets are $20 at the door. Visit www.gigsantafe.com. — J.L.
