Let it rain: Diego’s Umbrella

Pasatiempo - - RANDOM ACTS -

If rock music is a rolling stone collecting wisdom and influences as it travels, Diego’s Umbrella is a stone that’s rolled through numerous countries and lifetimes. Pop-punk, gypsy jazz, klezmer, polka, ska, and flamenco — among other inspirations — meld into energetic and even dramatic songs, played with flair by six men from San Francisco who challenge you to categorize them. Diego’s Umbrella plays at Skylight (139 W. San Francisco St.) at 8 p.m. on Monday, July 27. Doors open at 7 p.m. for this 21-and-over show. (Those under 21 can attend with a parent or guardian.) Tickets, which cost $12 in advance and $15 on the day of the show, are available at www.skylightsantafe.com. — Jennifer Levin
