French-fried blue­grass

The eclec­tic coun­try/blue­grass mu­si­cian Jean-Luc Ler­oux leads a mu­si­cal ensem­ble at Zia Diner (326 S. Guadalupe St. 505-988-7008) on Wed­nes­day, Aug. 12, at 6 p.m. Ler­oux is a Parisian now liv­ing most of the year in New Cale­do­nia, and an oc­ca­sional visi­tor to Santa Fe. He spe­cial­izes in clas­sic blue­grass and his own com­po­si­tions sung mostly in French. Ler­oux per­forms at Zia with sev­eral lo­cal mu­si­cians — Dave Devlin, Dave Dill­man, Sid Haus­man, Doug Jef­fords, and Dave Kun­ci­cky — who fre­quent the diner as part of the reg­u­lar Tues­daynight Santa Fe Blue­grass Jam and also as part of the Ad Hoc Blue­grass Band that plays Iconik Cof­fee Roast­ers ev­ery Sun­day from 10 a.m. to noon. Also join­ing the group for the Aug. 12 gig is Texas-based singer/song­writer Amy Ames. There is no cover.
