shifts in the weather pattern, and a change in the stock market as the sun and Jupiter entered Virgo last week. Astrologers expect a generalized deflation and reorganization toward what is solid and pragmatic as expansive Jupiter enters nervy, skittish, logical Virgo.

The stock market responds to emotional patterns in the stars, not logical ones. Venus and Mars, the planets that symbolize our emotional realm, conjunct in melodramatic Leo throughout September and crank up the volume on events and our emotional responses. New friendships take a while to cultivate, but we can start planting the seeds now. This Mars and Venus aspect can also stimulate an overreaction to our hopes and fears. Through early November, we need to redirect the focus away from fear and build on solid ground.

We really need emotional and economic ballast through this weekend as the moon waxes not just full, but supermoon full, at its closest approach to the Earth. Shimmering in the distance behind this full moon is Neptune, which gives us an extra emotional flood.

Early next week an Aries moon can stimulate rebellion. Don’t try to be the voice of common sense. Delay decisions until midweek, when the Taurus moon gives us a sense of pragmatism.

FRIDAY, AUG. 28: A positive, friendly current of energy can diffuse an underlying nervous irritation; it helps to find something practical to do. If we get unsettling news as the sun challenges Uranus, know that it’s only part of the picture. Data can misrepresent the truth; ask questions. After a busy, disjointed day, we need to rest and destress tonight.

SATURDAY, AUG. 29: We puddle about in our emotions, burrow into our hopes and fears, are inspired, or just watch cartoons around the Pisces full moon at 12:35 p.m. It helps to keep busy. Minor crises come to a head — let feelings flow but make no long-term decisions. Look for gentle magic tonight.

SUNDAY, AUG. 30: Flashes of genius are possible — listen to sudden ideas. Energy will ebb and flow throughout the day — let’s pace ourselves. Gentleness and imagination are appreciated.

MONDAY, AUG. 31: Avoid sudden erratic moves as the sun opposes Neptune and opens our imagination but impairs our perception. If we meet somebody unusual, read nothing into it until the story unfolds.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 1: We want to feel part of something larger this morning, and our contentment may depend upon how much we can engage with others. Impulse control is low as the moon conjuncts Uranus. Our kneejerk reaction will be rebellious, but that can give us strength. A tired calm seeps in tonight.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 2: We feel grounded, practical, and determined as the earthy Taurus moon trines Jupiter. Positive stability and steady routines can comfort us and build support. Small acts of generosity go far.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 3: Our attention focuses on relationships, and we feel self-indulgent and stubborn as the moon squares Venus and Mars this morning. Deal with problems that need an even hand after noon. Tonight we can think about our memories or knotty problems as the moon challenges Pluto.
