Michael Lange: WALD: Landscapes of Memory #6678 2010, archival pigment print
Photo-eye Gallery, 541 S. Guadalupe St., 505-988-5159, Ext. 202 Self-taught German photographer Michael Lange’s evocative images of forests and rivers feature in WALD/FLUSS, an exhibit of his large-scale, ghostly landscapes. Wald is German for woods and fluss means river. “My images express a longing for pacific-adepth, tion, and beauty — the desire to lose oneself,” he writes. The reception is at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28. WALD/FLUSS is Lange’s first solo show in the U.S. He signs copies of his recent monograph FLUSS, published by Hatje Cantz.
