Jean Cocteau Cinema reaches into the archives to celebrate Fiesta by screening the 1947 film noir Ride the Pink Horse, which features Zozobra as a symbol for the protagonist’s doom. Actor and director Robert Montgomery worked with Joan Harrison — one of the few women producing Hollywood movies in the ’40s — to put together this movie, partially shot in Santa Fe and in La Fonda. Taos’ historic Tío Vivo Carousel provides a refuge for Montgomery as Lucky Gagin. The film opens on Friday, Sept. 4. On the cover is a poster for the film.
