Santa Fe Sym­phony sea­son opener

The Santa Fe Sym­phony opens its 32nd sea­son with a con­cert con­ducted by Guillermo Figueroa. Two soloists grace the pro­gram. Itamar Zor­man, a sec­ond-prize win­ner of the 2011 Tchaikovsky In­ter­na­tional Com­pe­ti­tion, will be fea­tured in Tchaikovsky’s Vi­o­lin Con­certo, and Olga Kern, who was one of two gold medal­ists at the 2001 Van Cliburn In­ter­na­tional Pi­ano Com­pe­ti­tion, will ap­pear in Rach­mani­noff’s Rhap­sody on a Theme by Pa­ganini. Round­ing out the pro­gram is Verdi’s La forza del destino Over­ture and the Bac­cha­nale from Saint-Saëns’ Sam­son et Dalila. The per­for­mance takes place at 4 p.m. on Sun­day, Sept. 27, at the Len­sic Per­form­ing Arts Cen­ter (211 W. San Fran­cisco St.). Call 505-988-1234 for ticket avail­abil­ity.
