The Short Order

Pasatiempo - - RESTAURANT REVIEW -

The Mine Shaft Tavern is located amid funky galleries and colorful shops in the heart of the peculiar little town of Madrid. The main dining room is almost cavernous but oddly charming, with an air of Old West nostalgia. The partially covered deck is often crowded, especially on weekends. What’s on the rather extensive menu is typical bar fare, but it feels “made with love” — the ingredients are fresh, the portions are generous, and the flavors are satisfying. The employees are welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Recommended: Hatch green chile basket, Wagyu steak salad, Shroom burger, and cheese enchilada.
