Jennifer Schlesinger: Earth Pattern XII (honeycomb)
2003, toned gelatin silver print
New Mexico History Museum, 113 Lincoln Ave., 505-476-5200 Along the Pecos ,a photographic and sound collage, is a collaborative effort of photographer and Verve Gallery director Jennifer Schlesinger and composer Steven M. Miller (1965-2014), using materials recently donated to the Palace of the Governors Photo Archives. Miller’s recordings of ambient sounds — such as birds, automobiles, and the flowing water in the Pecos River — combine with Schlesinger’s luminous black-and-white close-up views, taken along the river’s banks, to create a meditative, immersive experience. The show continues through June 19, 2016, on the museum’s second floor.
