Kennel is known for his bird sculptures, which are often made using upcycled scrap metal. “You defy all logic of the material and you transform it into something that has purpose in the world,” he writes on his website. Truth & Beauty ,an exhibit of his works, opens Friday, Oct. 30, with a 5 p.m. reception.
