The Short Order

Unless they’ve booked a spa treatment, patrons at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa are going nowhere fast — except maybe to the Artesian Restaurant, which is often packed to capacity. The interior styling hints at Arts and Crafts, and the ambience is relaxed. Menus include appetizers, soups,

salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, and entrées ranging from enchiladas, rellenos, and fajitas to seafood, elk, beef, and duck. The food is good — sometimes even great — but service needs serious attention. Recommended: tortilla soup, green chile “fries,” steak salad, fish

tacos, elk chops, and caramel pecan square.
