In 1954, Bill Ha­ley & His Comets recorded “Rock Around the Clock,” the U.S. Navy launched its first nu­clear sub­ma­rine, and the first “sto­ry­book ranch houses” were built in Al­bu­querque and Southern Cal­i­for­nia. Th­ese homes, fea­tur­ing ex­trav­a­gantly cute de­sign el­e­ments and de­vel­oped with the “happy wife” in mind, are the fo­cus of All You Can Lose Is Your Heart ,anew book by for­mer Al­bu­querque Tri­bune pho­tog­ra­pher KayLynn Deveney.
