More than just plain folk: Greg Brown
Greg Brown, who plays Santa Fe on Friday, Feb. 26, isn’t just a veteran folk musician. He is a renowned composer who tells musical stories that can be wild, funny, and deeply perceptive. Iowa-born Brown grew up in various towns in the Midwest, the son of an electrician/ preacher father and a teacher/musician mother. After high school, he played guitar and sang at a folk club in New York, but he returned to Iowa to forge his career and has recorded about two dozen albums since his 1980 solo debut, 44 & 66.
