You can have it all: Rapture, Blister, Burn

Pasatiempo - - NEWS -

Since the rise of the feminist movement, women have been trying to achieve the perfect work/ life balance, or what is known as “having it all” — a great career, a partner, children, and a nice place to live. Sometimes in the internet age, it seems that every conversation about whether or not it’s an achievable goal has already been had. But Gina Gionfriddo’s Pulitzer Prize-nominated Rapture, Blister, Burn brings heady and comical new life to the topic when two old college friends are reunited, in a play that is about far more than academic theory and the shortcomings of second-wave feminism. A staged reading of the play at Center Stage (505 Camino de Los Marquez) is a fundraiser for Emerge New Mexico, an organization that trains women to run for elected office. There are two presentations, on Saturday, March 5, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 6, at 4 p.m. Tickets, $20, can be reserved at www.emergenm.org or purchased at the door.
