Thomas Christo­pher Haag: Vague Strug­gle, Am­bigu­ous Sup­port and the Pay­off 2016, mixed me­dia

Van Loon Gallery, 612 Agua Fría St., 505- 670- 6234 Thomas Christo­pher Haag presents new works in Symbol, the in­au­gu­ral ex­hibit of the Van Loon Gallery. Haag, a world trav­eler and for­mer cu­ra­tor, has painted mu­rals in lo­cales in­clud­ing Barcelona, Bangkok, Venice, and Rangoon. He ref­er­ences an­cient cul­tures and spir­i­tual tra­di­tions in mul­ti­lay­ered col­lage paint­ings that com­bine elab­o­rate pat­tern­ing and fig­u­ra­tive im­agery. The show in­cludes his paint­ings, as well as prints, in­te­rior and ex­te­rior mu­rals, and a found- ob­ject in­stal­la­tion. The grand open­ing re­cep­tion is Fri­day, March 25, at 5 p.m.
