Thomas Christopher Haag: Vague Struggle, Ambiguous Support and the Payoff 2016, mixed media
Van Loon Gallery, 612 Agua Fría St., 505- 670- 6234 Thomas Christopher Haag presents new works in Symbol, the inaugural exhibit of the Van Loon Gallery. Haag, a world traveler and former curator, has painted murals in locales including Barcelona, Bangkok, Venice, and Rangoon. He references ancient cultures and spiritual traditions in multilayered collage paintings that combine elaborate patterning and figurative imagery. The show includes his paintings, as well as prints, interior and exterior murals, and a found- object installation. The grand opening reception is Friday, March 25, at 5 p.m.
